Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 18, 2026 · Last updated: October 17, 2026
BidDuty ("BidDuty," "we," "us") publishes a weekly email of public government bid opportunities. BidDuty is an independent publisher based in Wilson, Wyoming. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
- Your email address, plus anything else you choose to give us (for example your name, company or trade), when you subscribe.
- Payment information if you buy a paid plan. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe tells us your name, email, billing country or ZIP, plan, and payment status.
- Email engagement data. Our email provider may record whether an email was delivered, opened or clicked. We use this to keep the list healthy and improve the brief.
- Basic technical data. Our website host may automatically log IP address, browser type and pages visited for security and reliability. This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers.
- Messages you send us, such as replies, questions or feedback.
2. How we use it
- To send the newsletter and any alerts you signed up for.
- To process payments, manage your subscription, and send receipts and account notices.
- To answer your questions and improve our coverage.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
3. Who we share it with
We share it only with service providers that help us run BidDuty, and only as much as each one needs:
- Buttondown: email newsletter delivery and subscriber management (privacy policy).
- Stripe: payment processing (privacy policy).
- Cloudflare: website hosting and security (privacy policy).
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business. If the business is sold, this policy continues to apply to your information.
4. Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime with the link at the bottom of every email.
- Access, correct or delete your information by emailing [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days. We may keep records that we're legally required to keep, such as payment records for tax purposes.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. Contact us and we will honor applicable requests.
5. Retention
We keep subscriber information while you're subscribed. After you unsubscribe we keep your email on a suppression list so we don't email you again. We keep payment and tax records as long as the law requires, generally up to 7 years.
6. Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Children
BidDuty is a business service for contractors. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date above. If a change is material, we'll notify subscribers by email.
